Why did you initially start triathlon?
It was something I thought I could never do, and I don’t like not being able to do things.

Favorite Race:
Wildflower

What is your best leg of the triathlon?
     Undoubtedly the bike.

What inspires you to train?
The sun on my face, the air in my lungs and the sweat on my brow. Best feeling in the world.

What are some of your goals for the 2012 race season?
Graduate! I mean, beat my Wildflower time from last year!

Why did you decide to join the Cal Poly Triathlon team?
I needed someone to teach me how to swim.

Most memorable race experience?
My first race, I had been going back and forth with another racer on the bike, pulling ahead and then falling behind. It was my first race, so I was sloppy in transition and he gets out ahead of me. But just a few yards before the finish line, I realize he’s right ahead of me, so just flat out sprint as fast as I can and pull ahead of him just before crossing the line. Win!

What is your favorite part about racing MTS?
     That lovely March weather!

What motivates you during a race?
The promise of food at the end.

Favorite CPtri moment
Overload Week last year, singing Christmas carols on top of Madonna by the giant lit Christmas tree! Then getting lost in the dark on the way down.

What is your favorite part about being on the team?
Awesome training partners! I would never put on running shoes if it weren’t for team practices!

Will you be racing MTS this year?
Alas, I shall not. I’ll be busy helping put it on for you fine folks!
