After another successful race in 2011, planning for MTS 2012 is already in full swing!
eco-friendly
While many triathletes are eco-friendly, many triathlons are not. This year, we will be working with some of Cal Poly’s Eco/Green clubs in order to do our part for the environment. Visit the eco efforts page, where we’ll keep you updated about our eco-friendly practices.
a better expo
The expo is one of the last experiences racers get on event day, and we want that memory to be a good one! This year we will be adding a special family and friends area after the finish, so that athletes may visit with non-racers to receive congratulations and praise before entering into the athlete’s only recovery area. Rest and recover under shaded tents, collect nourishing food provided by local suppliers, or visit our wonderful medical tent for extra TLC.
In addition, we have designed our expo around sustainability. There will be there multiple compost and recycling bins available for the local food and beverage products that will be offered. Many of our sponsors will be featured in the expo area as well as several Cal Poly student clubs and a student-run Green Info Booth—available to inform participants about our green and sustainable vision.
New Web Page and Photos!
This year, we have created a new web page full of useful information, racing tips, course maps, and more! We hope that you get a chance to peruse our site when you have some free time! We are also including more photos of the beautiful Lake Lopez on our location page for racers to check out before race day! A special thank you goes out to CP Tri’s own Brad Matsushita for designing our web page and Kaori Funahashi for providing us with photos! Feel free to check out more of their work at Bradmatsushita.com and Kaoriphoto.com!
