Meet us at Lopez Lake dark and early to get your packet! Be sure to bring a light source of some sort, and all of your racing gear. Packet pick-up will promptly close at 7:30 am, so please don’t be late. Please see the directions page for info on how to get to the lake.
Transition is a very important part of your triathlon experience.
Please become accustomed to the below map and know where Swim In, Bike Out, Bike In, and Run Out are located and how transition will flow. This will allow for a much more fluid transition on race day (which will improve your time!).
*In the event of a duathlon, waves will begin at the finish line. Racers will run on the left side of the road to the turnaround, and return on the left side. They will run past the finish chute and currently planned ambulance position, cut across right, and enter “Swim In/Bike Out” (cones or volunteers will mark the specific path across). Stay on the right side during Run 2.
Make sure to pre-purchase a parking pass during packet pick-up.
On the morning of the race, you will enter into the Lopez Lake Recreation area and continue straight up the road. A Volunteer will be standing at the entrance of the park to direct you. Volunteers/Prepaid parking take the left lane to continue straight through. Anyone else must take the right lane to the kiosk and buy a parking pass.
Do not arrive before 5:30 am as the park will be closed. Park quiet hours are until 7am so please be as quiet as possible.
Another volunteer will be standing at the junction of Marina Road and Lopez Drive to direct traffic. Volunteers who arrive before 8 am will turn left onto Marina Road. Volunteers who turn left here will park in the Campobello lot (as marked in orange). Volunteers arriving after 8 am, athletes, and spectators will continue straight on Lopez Drive, where the lots will be on the left near Mustang Slides (as marked in green). Parking volunteers will be there to instruct you where to park exactly. After parking, the quickest way to transition is through Grizzly Dr.
