Time

The transition area opens at 5:00am and closes for all participants at 7:45am. The race begins at 8am. (Arrive 2 hours early to allow time to enter the park and set up your equipment. Be sure to leave 15 – 30 min to walk/bike from the parking lot to the transition area)

7:30 am – Pre-Race Course Overview, Safety, and USAT Official Meeting at the Beach
7:40 am – Transition Area closes

8:15 am – Men’s Olympic 34 & under

NOTE: Tri-club competitors will be going off at the same time as their corresponding open divisions.

Relay

Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each collegiate and age group division for Sprint and Olympic distances. Must be present at awards ceremony to receive award.

MTS is located at Lopez Lake near sunny San Luis Obispo, CA. (6800 Lopez Drive, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420).

Parking

Parking passes will be sold for $10 at packet pick-up; avoid the hassle race morning and purchase a pass! (only one pass required per car)

Make sure to bring:

  • Valid Photo ID
  • Proof of USAT membership
  • $12 if need to purchase a 1 day USAT Membership
  • WCCTC # (if collegiate athlete)
  • $10 for Lake Lopez parking pass (all cars traveling to the lake must purchase this pass so carpool with friends!) Avoid the hassle on race morning and pick up your pass on Saturday.
  • You must pick up your own packet.
  • All relay team members must be present to get the team packet.

Directions to Lake Lopez from Northern California:

  1. Driving on US-101 South toward San Jose, Take exit 202A to merge onto Marsh St.
  2. Turn right at Broad St/CA-227
  3. Continue to follow CA-227
  4. Turn left on Tank Farm Rd.
  5. Tank Farm becomes Orcutt Rd, stay straight on Orcutt; do not turn left
  6. Turn left at Lopez Drive
  7. Continue straight on Lopez Dr until you reach the park entrance

Directions to Lake Lopez from Southern California:

  1. Driving on US-101 North, Take exit 187A for CA-227/Grand Ave
  2. Turn right at CA-227/E Grand Ave Continue to follow CA-227
  3. Stay right at Huasna Rd, Do not continue on CA-227
  4. Continue straight on Lopez Dr until you reach the park entrance
